PASIG CITY, May 15 (PIA) -- The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) today announced that it will resume the implementation of the truck ban policy beginning Monday, May 17.
In an advisory, MMDA said that the truck ban policy will be re-implemented in major thoroughfares of Metro Manila in view of the general community quarantine (GCQ) classification in the National Capital Region starting today.
Under MMDA’s existing truck ban policy, trucks are banned from traversing along major thoroughfares in Metro Manila managed by the MMDA, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
On the other hand, a total truck ban is enforced along EDSA, from Magallanes Interchange in Makati City to North Avenue in Quezon City, 24 hours a day, from Monday to Sunday.
However, trucks carrying perishable and agricultural products are exempted from the ban.
Meanwhile, the MMDA also announced that the number coding scheme is still suspended until further notice. (PIA NCR)
