NCRPO boosts counter-terrorism strategies for Metro Manila

CALOOCAN CITY, May 8 (PIA) -- Aiming to build a unified concept on counter terrorism, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), under the leadership of PMGen. Vicente D. Danao Jr., together with its counterparts both from foreign and local agencies held the recent International Intelligence Summit on Security and Terrorism at the Hinirang Multi-purpose Hall, Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan in Taguig City.

"In the field of security, the foremost enemy of any nation is “surprise”, it can happen anytime, anywhere. Insurgency, terrorism and other threats to a country’s security has been a long running issue not just here in the Philippines but in all other countries alike," Danao said.

"Through this summit, [the] NCRPO aims to invigorate its efforts in its fight against terrorism by discussing a series of topics related to core problems faced in this plight to share insights and thoughts on how to strengthen internal security against threats of terrorism," he added.

The International Intelligence Summit on Security and Terrorism 2021 was attended to by Philippine Intelligence units, distinguished members of Southeast Asian Countries and other partner nations.

“I would like to thank our counterparts both from foreign and local units for their indispensable share in the success of this summit and for their generosity in sharing invaluable knowledge and experiences to strengthen our fight against terrorism and other threats to national security. Guaranteed that these will be utilized in furtherance of our endeavor to achieve lasting peace in Metro Manila.” Danao said. (PIA NCR)
