Road to peace and development in Northern Samar nears completion

CATARMAN, Norther Samar, May 3 (PIA) -- Construction of Mondragon-Silvino Lubos road known as road to peace and development is now on its 79.81 percent completion per report of DPWH-Northern Samar Second District Engineering Office dated April 27, 2021.

The project amounting to P235 million covering 3,358.50 meters road concrete paving and 81.40 meters construction of Suba Bridge is funded under the PAyapa at MAsaganang PamayaNAn (PAMANA) of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process.

In a report, this is the Phase 5 implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways – Northern Samar Second District Engineering Office (DPWH-NSSDEO) under contract to a joint venture of Monolithic Construction and Concrete Products Inc. and Solid M Construction directly supervised by Project Engr. Gil Herrera and Material Engineer Bryan Fortes.

“Having this road completed, the outlying town of Silvino Lubos, a once remote and isolated town deprived of government services because of its inaccessibility will now boom economically, enjoy not only the services of the government but the peace it has been yearning for so long a time,” said Engr. David Adongay, District Engineer of the DPWH-NSSDEO.

The place also is a promising tourism trend because of its peculiarities, eco-tourism and cool temperature regarded as the summer capital of Northern Samar. (ldl/ADiaz/PIA N. Samar)
