Tagalog News: Magdiwang barangay placed under granular lockdown

MAGDIWANG, Romblon, May 12 (PIA) -- Barangay Poblacion in the town of Magdiwang, Romblon has been placed under granular lockdown after four residents tested positive for the Covid-19 virus on May 11.

Based on Executive Order No. 12, Series of 2021 signed by municipal Mayor Arthur Tansiongco, dated May 10, the lockdown in the area will last until May 17, 2021, but may be extended up to 14 days as may be required by the circumstances.

During the lockdown period, barangay officials were ordered to strictly enforce minimum public health standards within the barangay and must also render full cooperation with the Municipal Health Office (MHO) and other government agencies as the remaining barangays of the town will have the same restriction as Modified Enhance Community Quarantine (MECQ).

Under Section 3, local residents are not allowed to leave the barangay and likewise, non-residents are strictly prohibited from entering without their quarantine pass.

Workers from neighboring barangays, who may need to pass through Poblacion, shall only be allowed to work on-site with their face masks on and worker's pass.

Selling of goods will also be allowed among residents of the barangay but Sunday Market Day is temporarily suspended on May 16.

Religious services are also allowed, provided that it shall only have 50 percent of its total attendees.

Meanwhile, group gatherings are not allowed and a liquor ban will be imposed in the entire barangay.

While the lockdown begins on Monday, a stricter implementation will be in place and curfew hours will be implemented from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am the following day.

Distribution and retrievals of modules for public schools in Magdiwang are also temporarily suspended during the whole duration of the implementation of lockdown. (PJF/PIA Mimaropa)
