Village in Cabugao town placed under extreme ECQ

CABUGAO, Ilocos Sur, May 29 (PIA) – Mayor Edgardo Cobangbang Jr. approved Resolution No. 19 today placing the entire Barangay Namruangan  under extreme enhanced community quarantine (EECQ) effective May 29 until June 11, 2021. 
 
Mayor Cobangbang said there are currently 31 positive antigen tests in Namruangan village and mostly are barangay officials. 
 
All individuals under EECQ shall be strictly prohibited from leaving their homes.
 
Barricades shall be established in the identified critical zone to be manned by the barangay in coordination with the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. 
 
The local government unit of Cabugao shall provide for the essential needs and goods of all the individuals covered by the EECQ.
 
Municipal Health Office personnel shall be in-charge in monitoring the health and overall condition of the individuals covered by the critical zone. 
 
Likewise, Cobangbang approved Resolution No. 22 imposing total liquor ban in the entire municipality of Cabugao to limit the movement of people as there is another alarming surge of transmission in the locality. 
 
All sari-sari stores, grocery stores and liquor stores must not sell intoxicating beverages and drinking of liquor in public places is also prohibited beginning today until June 11, 2021. 
 
Further, the local chief executive approved Resolution No. 23 temporarily closing all stalls with cases of positive antigen and RT-PCR test at the Northern Ilocos Sur Trade Center for the same period as that of the liquor ban. 
 
“During the antigen mass testing, 13 came out positive and all turned out to be RT-PCR positive from the Northern Ilocos Sur Trade Center,” he said. 
 
The municipality of Cabugao is under modified enhanced community quarantine until June 8, 2021.
 
As of 8p.m. of May 28, the town has 79 active COVID-19 cases and two deaths. (JCR/AMB/PIA Ilocos Sur)
