BUTUAN CITY – A total of 700 personnel of the Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) have received their shots of anti-flu vaccines in a one-day inoculation activity here.
BCPO Public Information Officer, Maj. Emerson Alipit, told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Wednesday the anti-flu vaccination was among the initiatives of BCPO chief, Col. Excelso Lazaga Jr. to provide Butuan cops with health protection.
“The vaccines were free, which were sourced out from the Department of Health. The vaccination ended until 8 p.m. on Tuesday,” Alipit said.
About 400 dependents of BCPO personnel were also inoculated with anti-flu vaccines during the activity, he added.
“Col. Lazaga also emphasized the importance of providing vaccines among the family members of our personnel as they too are at risk from flu,” Alipit said.
Meanwhile, he reported that the ongoing “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” activity for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccinations in the past two days in Butuan has been orderly and peaceful.
He noted that about 60 BCPO personnel are directly involved in the three-day activity that ends Wednesday.
“Most of our personnel are providing security in the vaccination sites and during the conduct of mobile vaccination in the different barangays,” Alipit said. (PNA)
