Fair weather, isolated rains to prevail across PH

MANILA – Fair weather, thunderstorms and rain showers will prevail across the country due to the easterlies, the weather bureau said Monday.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said warm and humid weather will prevail over Luzon. "Because of the easterlies, there is a high chance of rains over the eastern section of Luzon.

Metro Manila has a slim chance of thunderstorms," weather forecaster Benison Estareja said.

Partly cloudy skies and localized thunderstorms will be experienced over some parts of the Visayas, he added.

Fair weather will prevail over Mindanao, and it will be warm and humid at noon. Localized thunderstorms will be experienced in the afternoon and evening.

In anticipation of the northeast monsoon, gale warning has been issued over Batanes.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over extreme northern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.

The shallow low pressure area (LPA) that passed through Samar provinces, Bicol region and Region 4-B (Mimaropa) in the past days is now over the West Philippine Sea.

Metro Manila, Laoag, Legazpi, Kalayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa's temperature is up to 33 °C, while Tuguegarao is up to 34 °C. (PNA)
