Amihan to bring light rains across Luzon, Visayas

MANILA-- Most areas in Luzon and the Visayas will experience light rains due to the northeast monsoon oramihan, the weather bureau said Monday.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said cloudy skies with light rains will prevail overCagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and the northern portion of Quezon including Polillo Islands.

Partly to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will be experienced overMetro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and the Visayas.

PAGASA said the shear line would causescattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga and Davao Region.

Flash floods or landslides are possible during moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of Mndanao will haveisolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Moderateto strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail overLuzon, the Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao.

Strong to gale force winds will be experienced over thenorthern and eastern seaboards of northern Luzon and the eastern seaboard of central Luzon, thewestern seaboards of northern and central Luzon and the eastern seaboard of southern Luzon.

Gale warning has also been issued over theeastern seaboards of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Fishing boats and other small seacraft are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.(PNA)
