Trough of LPA, 'amihan' to bring some clouds, rains Saturday

MANILA – The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) is seen to affect Mindanao on Saturday while the northeast monsoon or "amihan" will reign over northern and central Luzon.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Mindanao brought by the trough of an LPA.

Metro Manila and the Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon regions will have partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated light rains brought by the "amihan".

The Visayas and the rest of Luzon will likewise have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms brought by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Winds in extreme northern Luzon will be moderate to strong and headed northeast, with moderate to rough coastal waters.

Light to moderate winds headed east to the northeast will blow over the rest of the country, with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 24°C to 31°C; Puerto Princesa, 24°C to 32°C; Metro Cebu, 24°C to 30°C; Cagayan de Oro City, 24°C to 28°C; and Metro Davao, 24°C to 31°C. (PNA)
