MANILA – The low pressure area (LPA) last tracked 135 kilometers east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur will bring rains over many parts of the country, the weather bureau said on Monday.

In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the Bicol Region, Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, Marinduque, and Romblon will experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA.

PAGASA said flash floods or landslides are likely during moderate to at times heavy rains.

PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said the LPA may last for three days in the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the entire archipelago. (PNA)
