MANILA – The easterlies will bring fair weather in most parts of the archipelago, with isolated rains to dampen some areas due to localized thunderstorms, the weather bureau said Thursday.
"Because the easterlies continue to prevail across the country, warm and humid weather will still be experienced, especially at noon," Grace Castaňeda of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said. "If going outdoors can't be prevented, drink plenty of water and don't forget to bring sun shields. Take precautions against the harmful effects of heat," she added, as temperatures are expected to reach between 32-34 °C.
Castaňeda said isolated rains are likely in the afternoon or evening.
Metro Manila, Tuguegarao, Puerto Princesa and the Kalayaan Islands' temperatures may reach 33 °C; Legazpi and Laoag up to 32 °C.
Fair weather with chances of rains is also forecast over the Visayas and Mindanao.
"Rains will only last for a short period, but floods and landslides are still possible, especially during severe thunderstorms," Castaňeda said.
Zamboanga's temperature may reach up to 34 °C while Davao at 33 °C.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the whole archipelago. (PNA)
