Habagat brings cloudy skies, rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas

MANILA – Western sections of Luzon and Visayas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to southwest monsoon (habagat), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.

In its latest bulletin, the weather bureau said flash floods or landslides are possible in Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan due to moderate to at times heavy rains triggered by habagat.

It said Davao Region and Soccsksargen will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to trough of low-pressure area. PAGASA also forecast flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Moderate winds headed southwest to south will blow over western sections of Luzon and Visayas, with moderate coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas will experience light to moderate winds gusting southeast to south with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Mindanao will have light to moderate winds blowing northeast to variable with slight to moderate sea.

The temperature will range from 25.6 °C to 29.6°C. (PNA)
