Crashed plane’s passenger found dead in Isabela

The female passenger of the ill-fated Piper plane that crashed in Isabela on Nov. 30 was found dead Sunday morning.

The Isabela Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said the body of the lone passenger was found near the wreckage area by K-9 trackers.

Isabela PDRRMO head Constante Foronda said the remains are being brought to an area where it could be recovered by a Philippine Air Force helicopter.

The victim’s husband decided that the casket will be flown to the municipality of Palanan by the operator of the Piper plane, Foronda said.

“It took more than three hours before we could release the information because we still had to notify the family of the passenger first,” Foronda added.

The Piper PA-32-300 of Fliteline Airways and operated by Cyclone Airways departed Cauayan Airport at 9:39 a.m. on Nov. 30.

It was supposed to arrive at Palanan Airport at 10:23 a.m.

Two days later, the body of the pilot was recovered.
