Camarines Norte guv urges returning OFWs to undergo home quarantine

DAET, Camarines Norte, May 28 (PIA) – Returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to the province of Camarines Norte were encouraged to undergo self or home quarantine according to Governor Edgardo A. Tallado in a radio interview here recently.

Pursuant to Inter-Agency Task Force- Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Resolutions 26 and 29 and to Department of Health (DOH) Memorandum Order No. 0200-2020, OFWs need to complete a 14-day mandatory quarantine and two negative in RT-PCR Covid-19 swab test results before he is allowed to go home to his family.

He said that returning OFWs should bring with them certificates of 14 day quarantine and negative results of swab tests before entering the premises of the province.

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and other government agencies concerned will assist and accompany all the returning OFW directly to their homes, he said.

“Pakiusap na lang sa ating mga OFWs na makipag cooperate na mag self-quarantine po," the Governor said.

The province is strictly implementating the 14 day quarantine  and directted other local government units concerned to do the same to returning  residents who want to enter the community since March 23.

Camarines Norte is under  General Community Quarantine (GCQ) and local officials are following protocols set by the IATF-EID in the implementation of provincial policies and guidelines.

As of this writing, there were 2 confirmed cases in this province for COVID-19, the Bicol #61 who died May 15 and Bicol #68 who was admitted at the Labo District Hospital and now recovering.

He said that contact tracing is being done for high to low risk including the 4 doctors whose swab tests turned negative recently.

Meanwhile, on the Balik Probinsiya Program, he urged the national government concerned to coordinate with the LGUs and ensure that the necessary assistance like job and livelihood will be provided by the state. (RBManlangit-PIA V/Camarines Norte)
