City gov't gives cash incentives to graduating students

SANTIAGO CITY, May 26 (PIA)–Graduating pupils and students in this city will receive cash incentives from the City Government of Santiago under its 'Bespren sa Edukasyon at Literasiya program'.

Santiago City Mayor Joseph Tan said the city government is alloting enough funds annually to give incentives or cash gifts to graduating pupils and students in the city as a way to encourage other students to finish their studies.

This year, despite the suspension of the usual graduating ceremonies by the Department of Education (DepEd) to ensure the safety of all learners and teachers due to COVID-19 pandemic, graduating pupils and students will still receive the cash incentives.

Under the program, City Day Care Children who completed Day Care Program and Kindergarten will be receiving P400 each, Grade 6 completers will receive P700 each, Grade 10 and Grade 12 completers will receive P1,100 each and college graduate Santiagueños will receive P2,000. (MDCT/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
