DSWD distributes P99-B for 625,484 SAP beneficiaries in R10

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, May 27 (PIA)--Helping 17.52 million families make ends meet during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) crisis, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) already released P99.05 billion for the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) covering 625,484 families in the region with a total of P17.42 million disbursement.

DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista said during the Network Briefing with Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar, May 27, about 1,482 out of 1,634 local government units (LGUs) have already reported 100 percent completion of SAP distribution. About 702 LGUs have submitted their liquidation report while 283 LGUs have given their partial liquidation report.

In northern Mindanao, only 2,759 families are left unserved with a total disbursement requirement of P17,426,050. The region targets 628,243 SAP beneficiaries with a total budget of P3.76 billion.

For areas qualified to receive the second tranche of SAP, Bautista said, "Kung pwede madaliin natin ang pag-submit ng liquidation report para maumpisahan namin ang validation at makapagsimula tayo sa pagbigay ng second tranche ng SAP."

(If possible, let us speed up the submission of the liquidation report so we can start the validation and eventually begin the distribution of the second tranche of SAP.)

Meanwhile in Region 10, Charmaine Tadlas of DSWD-10 said the regional office is currently waiting for the guidelines from the Central Office on the second tranche of SAP distribution.

The COVID-19 Intake Cards (CICs) of those who were left-out from the first tranche of SAP are currently encoded by the regional office.

DSWD-10 still awaits for the written directive from MalacaƱang on the inclusion and schedule of SAP second tranche distribution. (RTP/PIA10)
