BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, May 4(PIA) – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will be augmenting the Department of Labor and Employment’s(DOLE) assistance for the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ)-affected sectors
Paz Ancheta, Policy and Planning Division chief of the DSWD regional office said the augmentation assistance will be
given to the DOLE’s TUPAD Program or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers.
TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
“We will be adding their TUPAD assistance so that it will be at par with our Social Amelioration Assistance(SAP) given to the ECQ-affected villagers,” Ancheta said.
She said their agency will be adding the TUPAD benefits so that it will become P5,500.00, the rate for their SAP in Cagayan Valley.
The TUPAD Program, one of the DOLE’s SAP for the ECQ period will be given at P5,500.00 for each beneficiary, Ancheta said. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
