BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, May 20 (PIA) – The provincial government here will be offering a lunchtime ‘Salu-salo’ among its offices as one of the simple celebration for the 181st Founding Anniversary of the province.
Governor Carlos Padilla said the lunchtime treat for the PLGU workers was conceived since the celebration of the 2020 Grand ‘Ammungan’ Festival has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This will be done as our way of simple celebration, subject to social distancing among our skeletal workforce employees. We also appreciate the support and cooperation of our offices during the planning stages of our festival,” he said.
The yearly Grand ‘Ammungan’ Festival is organized by the provincial government from May 22 to 24 with various activities and programs within and outside the provincial capitol in this town.
Major highlights of the festival are the agro-industrial trade fair, indigenous people’s day, search for the Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya, street dancing and the multi-sectoral grand parade, among others.
Padilla said all employees are also encouraged to attend a mass on May 24 which will be witnessed by Novo Vizcayanos through live streaming in social media.
“Neverthless, the significance of our beloved province’s 181st founding anniversary shall be meaningfully remembered and cherished in these most trying times,” he said.# Benjamin Moses M. Ebreo/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya
