Parañaque lifts liquor ban

PARAÑAQUE CITY CITY, May 31 (PIA) -- The City Government of Parañaque has lifted the suspension of all alcohol selling and serving licenses in the city, following the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging and Infectious Disease’s recommendation and President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s approval for Metro Manila to be put under General Community Quarantine.  

The lifting of the liquor ban in the city will start on June 1, 2020.

Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez signed the Executive Order No. 2020-041 Series of 2020 on Friday, May 29, 2020 for this purpose.

Under the executive order, all business establishments with suspended permit to manufacture, distribute, sell, and serve alcoholic drinks due to Executive Order No. 2020-24 will be allowed to operate.

Public establishments namely restaurants, and bars are still prohibited to serve alcoholic beverages.

Residents may consume liquor in their respective residences as drinking outside is still not allowed as   a measure to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 in Parañaque City.

Parañaque City has joined other cities in the National Capital Region such as Pasay, Marikina, and Quezon City in lifting the liquor ban. (PIA-NCR)
