CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, May 20 (PIA) – The Sangguniang Kabataan Federation officers of Isabela province are now being trained by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on organic agriculture.

Through TESDA's supervised institution Isabela School of Arts and Trade,  youth leaders were enrolled on Organic Agriculture Production training  as part of the agency's commitment to conduct multiplier training despite being under the General Community Quarantine due to COVID -19.

ISAT Vocational Schools Superintendent Edwin Madarang said the school has partnered with the local government unit of Tumauini for the implementation of TESDA's Sigasig ng Kabataan sa Pagpaparami ng Pagkain (SIKAP) which was formally launched at Camp Samal in the said town on May 19.

Madarang said minimum health protocols such as observing physical distancing and the mandatory wearing of face masks will be observed during the duration of the training.

The TESDA Region II's Project SIKAP is an initiative of Acting Regional Director Demetrio P. Anduyan, Jr., which aims to engage youth in food productivity and security by training them to grow their own food and set up communal gardens. (MDCT/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
