Use of ticket vending machines, stored value cards encouraged in LRT-2

PASIG CITY, May 27 (PIA) – While mass public transportations are preparing health and safety measures for the resumption of operations under the general community quarantine (GCQ), LRT-2 Spokesperson Atty. Hernan Cabrera encouraged train riders to use ticket vending machines (TVM) and stored value cards.

“Mas convenient po na kung sana, umpisahan na po nating gamitin yung tinatawag natin na mga ticket vending machines (TVM). Meron ho tayong mga machine na parang teller, automatic teller sa lahat ng istasyon. Yun na lang po ang gamitin natin para maiwasan po yung human-to-human transaction sa pagitan ng pasahero at sa ating mga teller. So more or less, ma prevent po natin yung transmission po ng virus ‘pag ginagamit po natin yung TVM.”  

The LRT-2 spokesperson also suggested and encouraged passengers to use stored value card.

“Kung pwede po, maglaan na po tayo ng kaunting budget para pagbili po natin ng ticket minsanan lang po. So, kung pwede ho tayong mag budget ng enough na pamasahe good for one week, gamitin po natin yung stored value ticket, gamitin po natin yung TVM, mas convenient po ang ating process, mas mabilis po tayong makakasakay, mas makakaiwas po tayo sa transmission ng virus.”     

Aside from encouraging passengers the use of TVM and stored value cards, Atty. Cabrera also said that LRT-2 is preparing safety and health protocols inside the train stations and inside the trains as well.

Atty. Cabrera reminded passengers to wear face mask, pass thru the foot bath, and temperature check. He added that alcohol and sanitizers ay readied inside the train stations and regular disinfection of trains are also in place.

To ensure social or physical distancing, floor markings are also readied in train stations and inside the trains. Atty. Cabrera also said that load capacity will be limited up to 160 passengers only per train to ensure social distancing is in place. (PIA-NCR)
