CSU prexy: Opening of classes will depend on IATF's recommendation

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, June 4 (PIA) - - The Cagayan State University (CSU) is ready to accept student enrollees for the academic year 2020-2021, according to its president.

University President Urdujah A. Tejada, however, said that the opening of classes and the teaching strategies to be adapted once classes resume will depend on the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and the orders from Malacanan.

She said they have already prepared the teaching modalities to be implemented to include online, blended and other alternative modes of instructions if classes will already be allowed.

"We are ready. If Malacanan's instructions ultimately allow limited face-to-face encounters, our deans have already been instructed on how to craft blended modes of instruction that will minimize physical presence and optimize the use of alternative modes of delivery," Tejada said.

She stressed, however, that if physical presence will remain forbidden, there are other alternatives that the teachers will implement.

"Modules are now being written and will be produced. In fact, in some campuses, these have already been delivered," she added.

She added that the university's Management Information Systems team is crafting online mechanism for enrollment.

For those who don't have any access to the internet, the Campus Executive Officers have deviced strategies suited on the situations in their respective areas such as enrollment via telephone calls, text messaging and visitions in the communities.

She said the online enrollment for the incoming semester will start on June 8 up to August 14 while the regular class is tentatively scheduled on August 24, depending on the orders from top officials.

The university lady president also stressed that they followed orders from the Inter-Agency Task Force, from Malacanan and even from the local authorities.

Tejada also expect tremendous increase of enrollees this year with the number of newly graduates of senior high school students. She said the university's enrollment rate in the previous years went down because of the implementation of the K to 12 program. (MDCT/OTB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
