Cua graces Brigada Eskwela, Oplan Balik Eskwela National Virtual Launch

CABARROGUIS, Quirino, June 1 (PIA)—Governor Dakila Carlo E. Cua, chairperson of the League of Governors and the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines graced the First Virtual national Kick-off of the Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela this morning.

In his message, Cua said the local government units commend the Department of Education in its efforts in coming up with flexible alternative means of learning  despite some apprehensions regarding the preparedness, health and safety of the learners who are going back to school as well as the safeness of the learning modules and activity sheets to be distributed to learners.

But despite these apprehensions, Cua has expressed support to Secretary Leonor Briones’s decision to push through with the school opening saying  that  life must go on and learning must go on.

“As we push the education forward and protect the health and safety of our students, we have to be creative in finding solutions, that is why we in the ULAP and the LGUs  would like to express our full heart and support to the DepEd no matter how major or minor our role will be,” he said.

The ULAP and League of Governors chair has stressed the importance of collaboration in this  critical situation adding that it is beyond just the DepEd  the LGUs’  standing on their own but it requires the collaboration of the whole nation  to  effectively find a more lasting solution for the education of the children.

Cua also shared that In the province of Quirino, the provincial government in coordination with Quirino State University and  the DepEd-Schools Division Office will sponsor  series of webinars to equip and guide  the  parents in teaching their children and provide them virtual instructions to get accustomed to the new learning modalities.

“I would like to say that we should not lose sight of the fact that our future is still bright and hopeful for our children, and our country can rise above the uncertainty of the these times as long as we come together as one nation and as one Filipino people, Cua said. (MDCT/TCB/PIA 2-Quirino)
