DAVAO CITY June 26, 2020 (PIA) - Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio revealed that there will be no suspension on the coming in of locally stranded persons and Overseas Foreign Workers even if some local government units look at them as factors in the increase of COVID-19 cases in their respective areas.
She said the city will continue to accept people with the resumption of the domestic flights and the approval of its endorsement to add more flights to the city by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, except the Iloilo-Davao-Iloilo route.
Duterte-Carpio said the more the people are stranded in high risked areas, the more chances they are afflicted of COVID-19.
She however warned the residents to stay away from new arrivals until they have finished their 14-day quarantine period.
“We will not stop the people from coming in but we have to be careful with ourselves as well,” Duterte-Carpio said.
The city has offered free and voluntary COVID-19 PCR testing for airline passengers arriving in Davao City from June 8 onwards.
Passengers who want to avail of the testing will only have to prepare a photocopy of their ticket and boarding pass and may text or call the COVID-19 operations center at 2440181 or through 0917-508- 6548 or 0919-071-1111. (PIA XI-Joey Sem G. Dalumpines)
