Gov. Padilla welcomes 'Hatid Tulong' Program

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, July 6 (PIA) - - Governor Carlos Padilla has welcomed the 'Hatid Tulong' program of the national government to bring back Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) in their respective provinces and municipalities.

He made the statement as the 'Hatid Tulong ' Program brought a lone LSI today in the province, a villager from Bambang town.

The Vizcayano LSI was brought home through the national government's 'Hatid Tulong' Program which kicked-off last Saturday at the Quirino Grandstand in Quezon City.

The program seeks to bring home LSIs to their respective communities in Luzon Visayas and Mindanao.

"We welcome this program as it will help our fellow Novo Vizcayanos who wanted to return back to their respective communities to start the new normal opportunities in store for them," he said.

Padilla said the provincial government is also doing its best to bring home Novo Vizcayanos trapped during the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) and Modified ECQ (MGCQ) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the governor, the "OPLAN Awid Kontra COVID", being managed and implemented by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), has already brought home 593 LSIs in the province.

The LSIs who came from regions 1, 2, 3, CAR and the NCR were brought home after proper coordination and preparation of the required documents.

Roxette Dela Cruz, PDRRMO administrative aide, also bared that the requirements of another batch of 18 LSIs are also being processed under the "OPLAN Awid Kontra COVID" Program.
