Maddela MSMEs get livelihood kits

MADDELA, QUIRINO, July 6 (PIA)—Some 14 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises at Brgy. Cofcaville and Dipintin here received Livelihood Kit Package from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) under the Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB).

The program aims to restore their sustainable livelihood enterprises and provides opportunities to grow and prosper amidst the COVID-19 pandemic by providing in-kind assistance and capacitate them on basic entrepreneurship and simple business planning.

Based on DTI’s facebook post, the beneficiaries who were selected from the participants during the LSP-NSB launching at Barangay Dipintin on June 5 and Barangay Cofcaville on June 8 were among the MSMEs who were affected by the COVID-19.

Each of the beneficiaries received P5,000 worth of starter kits which include furniture power tools and supplies, food processing kits, raw materials, packaging materials and handicraft making package.

In her message, DTI Provincial Director Maria Sofia Narag has expressed hope that thru the project, the beneficiaries will be able to regain their losses due to the pandemic.

"Ammomi nga adu iti negosio nga apektado ngem uray nu kastoy ti pasamak, agtininnulong tayo a tumakder. Awaten yu kuma daytoy nga livelihood kits a kas tulong iti negosioyo ket sapay kuma ta makatulong kanya yu daytoy a gundaway,” Narag told the beneficiaries.

For his part, Vice Mayor Rimel Tolentino of Maddela urged the beneficiaries to maximize the use of the livelihood kits in improving their businesses. “Share whatever you received to other MSMEs so that they will be benefited too,” he added.

Meanwhile, Junior Business Counsellor – Negosyo Center Maddela Crissa Arios, discussed Entrepreneurial Development wherein she focused on the services offered by Negosyo Centers and the Seven Ways of Uplifting MSMEs. (MDCT/TCB/PIA 2-Quirino)
