519 Malaubang residents in Ozamiz undergo rapid testing

OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental, Aug. 31 (PIA)—Ozamiz City Health Office conducted rapid tests to 519 residents including senior citizens and children in Purok 1, Malaubang, Ozamiz City.

The precautionary measure is to identify possible infected individuals and provide immediate health services by the local government. This measure is brought about by the current influx of returning locally stranded individuals (LSIs).

The influx also prompted Mayor Sancho Fernando Oaminal to order the lockdown of the entire Purok 3 and part of Purok 1 of Malaubang to contain the spread of the deadly virus.

Oaminal reminded Ozamiz residents not to panic, and "it is better not to go out if it is not really necessary and always adhere to the health protocols implemented by the government."

The City Government of Ozamiz also delivered relief goods to the residents affected by the lockdown.

There are currently 38 active COVID-19 cases in Ozamiz City. One symptomatic patient is currently admitted at Mayor Hilarion A. Ramiro Sr. Medical Center (MHARS MC), while 37 asymptomatic patients are now isolated at SM Lao City General Hospital. (SMRN/PIA Misamis Occidental)
