TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Aug. 15 (PIA) - - Seven Isabeleños and one Novo Vizcayano were the newly COVID-19 positive cases in the Cagayan Valley Region as confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH) region 2 today, driving the region's caseload to 524 as of Saturday, Aug. 15.
The first two cases tagged as CV 513, 84-year-old female and CV 514, 51-year old male, are both residents of Naguilian, Isabela who arrived from Quezon City.
CV 513 who is now under the care of Southern Isabela Medical Center (SIMC) showed symptoms of fever, loss of appetite and weakening of her body. CV 514, on the other hand, is asymtomatic and now at the LGU quarantine facility.
CV 515 is a 27-year-old male from Delfin Albano, Isabela who doesn't have travel history but was known to have exposure to CV 307 and CV 394. The patient experienced cough and fever and now on strict home quarantine.
CV 516 is 32-year-old male from Santiago City who traveled to Manila last August 12. He is asymptomatic and now admitted in a quarantine facility in Cubao, Quezon City.
CV 517 (76-year-old female from San Mateo, Isabela), CV 518 (65-year-old female from Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya) and CV 519 (33-year-old male from Echague, Isabela) have no recorded travel history but traced to have exposure with CV 470, CV 422 and CV 340, respectively.
The three cases according to DOH are now on strict home quarantine.
The last patient confirmed today is CV 520, a 30-year-old female from San Mariano, Isabela who came from Pasay City. Though she is asymptomatic, she is admitted at the SIMC because she is 16-week pregnant.
Regional Director Rio L. Magpantay said the contact tracing is now being undertaken in the grounds by the concerned officials and assigned contact tracers.
As of writing, there are already 524 total cases confirmed by DOH in which 515 are the actual cases of region 2 while nine for National Capital Region. (MDCT/OTB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
