COVID-19 active cases in Vizcaya now at 60

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Sept. 1 (PIA) - COVID-19 cases in this province has soared to 60 active cases as of August 31, most of these cases were caused by community transmission in the towns of Solano and Bayombong.

Dr. Edwin Galapon, provincial health officer and chairperson of the Prov'l COVID-19 Task Force said COVID-19 deaths were also recorded at four since May this year with two from Solano and one each from the towns of Bayombong and Dupax del Norte.

"These COVID-19 cases were caused by community transmission that is why our concerned LGUs are implementing and proposing strict health protocols to contain the infection and prevent the further spread of the virus," he said.

Governor Carlos Padilla has appealed to Novo Vizcayanos to cooperate and support various health protocols imposed by their concerned local government units.

The provincial government appeals for everyone's cooperation and support as we steadfastly work for the protection and safety of all our fellow Vizcayanos. All are enjoin to remain vigilant and practice prevention and control measures to avert the further spread of the virus," he posted in his FB account.

The Provincial COVID-19 Task Force is expected to act on various proposed measures of LGUs today to contain infection and stop the spread of the COVID-19 in their respective communities.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
