BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya, August 10 (PIA) - - This town has recorded its first COVID-19 case, breaking its erstwhile record as free of the dreaded virus.
Dr. Edwin Galapon, Provincial Health Officer, said the latest COVID-19 case in the province is CV 422, a 30-year old female from barangay Homestead, citing the Department of Health's (DOH) report dated August 6.
He said CV 422 has no trvel history and recently gave birth to twin baby girls through caesarian in August 5. She is remains asymptomatic.
On the same day, she also underwent swab testing and the results came out positive for COVID-19, bringing the total COVID-19 cases in the province to 3 as of this writing.
Others are CV 326, a 32-year old female from Alfonso CastaƱeda town, CV 368, an 8-month old male from Solano and CV 422 , the 30-year old female from Bambang.
"With these present cases, we should always practice the minimum health protocols in our respective communities to avoid local transmission of the virus," Galapon said.
Mayor Pepito Balgos also appealed to the town's villagers not to panic and maintain discipline by following preventive measures against the COVID-19.
