BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, August 10 (PIA) - An official of the Department of Health (DOH) here has appealed to Novo Vizcayanos to practice the minimum health protocols to prevent the local transmission of the COVID-19 in the province.
"We are appealing to our fellow Novo Vizcayanos to follow, always put into practice and make it a habit, the wearing of face mask, social distancing and proper sanitation," said John Tugadi, DOH coordinator.
He said the incident at barangay Kirang in Aritao town, which was put under lockdown, has been considered a local transmission because of the number of contacts made by an undocumented Local Stranded Individual (LSI) who recently returned home.
Tugadi said the LSI has already infected his family while close to 200 more were also exposed to him.
"Those who made contact with the LSI were already put into quarantine protocol and were tested negative of the virus. This incident must be a lesson for us to always comply and follow the basic health protocols and our local government unit's guidelines on the COVID-19 prevention," he added.
Tugadi also stressed the need for the LGUs in the province to establish their own quarantine facilities to accommodate those who have been exposed to a COVID-19 carrier. (ALM/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
