DSWD-7 to resume Listahanan Household Assessment

CEBU CITY, Aug. 21 (PIA) -- The National Household Targeting Section (NHTS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) -7 will now resume the Listahanan household assessment that was temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Listahanan staff regularly meet online to discuss matters pertaining to the resumption of the Listahanan activities including the strict adherence to the health protocols for the safety of the staff against COVID-19 while ensuring that quality data will still be obtained.

Starting July 31, NHTS staff visited the Listahanan field staff in their areas to deliver the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Household Assessment Forms (HAF), among others.

Also, online chats for the staff are always open so that constant communication about Listahanan will be tackled.

DSWD-7 will be releasing the initial list of poor households after the validation and finalization phase.

Listahanan, or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR), is an information management system that employs geographic targeting, household assessment, and validation in order to provide national government agencies, development partners, and other social protection actors with information on who and where the poor are in the Philippines.

This information is then used for the identification and selection of potential beneficiaries for various poverty alleviation and social protection programs.

It is mandated to update its data every four years under Executive Order No. 867 series of 2010. (hfg/PIA7 with report from DSWD 7)
