DSWD resumes P14.4K TFSP distribution following strict health protocols

MARAWI CITY, Aug. 25 (PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) resumes its distribution of P14,400 Transitory Family Support Package while strictly adhering to health protocols in fighting against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The schedule of the distribution has been suspended due to an executive order issued by the city government of Marawi suspending the operations for function halls within the city for a period of fourteen (14) days due to the surge of local transmissions of COVID-19.

DSWD Region 10 met with Mayor Majul Gandamra and the 24 barangay chairpersons to discuss ways to proceed with the distribution without compromising health protocols. 

DSWD presented the recommendations in continuing the distribution and emphasized the vital role of the barangay local government units (BLGU).

The Philippine Army and BLGUs are also committed to strengthen the maintenance of peace and order and to ensure that the health protocols are strictly followed. (LELA/PIA-ICIC)
