The agency distributed a total of 266 pieces of face shields to different offices in the province. LGU-Clarin received 30 pieces, LGU-Bonifacio received 50 pieces, Dona Maria D. Tan Hospital in Tangub City received 86 pieces, and Mayor Hilarion A. Ramiro Sr. Medical Center in Ozamiz City received 100 pieces.

LGU-Clarin, whose local office is actively implementing measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community, is considered to be critical. LGU-Bonifacio, a border entrance from Molave, Zamboanga del Sur also needs high attention.

Both the Dona Maria D. Tan Hospital in Tangub City and Mayor Hilarion A. Ramiro Sr. Medical Center in Ozamiz City are the identified hospitals in Misamis Occidental that accept COVID-19 related cases. Personnel from the two hospitals were grateful for the face shields received.

Face shields distributed are DOST-Metal Industry Research and Development Center (DOST-MIRDC) products through plastic injection mold technology fabricated at the Die and Mold Solution Center, a facility within the DOST-MIRDC compound.

The fight for COVID-19 goes on and this calls for more continuing partnership among government and private offices to end this pandemic. (DOST X/PIA10)
