VIRAC, Catanduanes, July 31, (PIA)- As part of the 2020 Micro Small and Medium Enterprise week celebration, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial Office turned over livelihood kits to Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) Program beneficiaries in Bato and San Miguel towns.
The program aims to augment the needs of beneficiaries especially pandemic-induced challenges and to help them bounce back from their losses and to support their journey towards business restoration. The 30 beneficiary MSMEs were selected from the participants of 2019 NSB orientation where 24 are from Bato and 6 are from San Miguel. The kits consist of grocery items worth P8,000.00 each.
During the turnover, beneficiaries were assisted by representatives from their respective Barangay Development Councils. Present during the event were Bato town Mayor Juan Rodulfo, Vice Mayor Roy Regalado and San Miguel Councilor Manuel Sumulat. Also in attendance were DTI Catanduanes OIC-Provincial Director, Ms. Maria Belma Escueta, Business Development Divisoon Head, Ms. Daisy F. Tabirara and Negosyo Center Business Councilor of Virac Dennise Jean S. Taperla.
Meanwhile, beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance given to them by the government thru DTI.
In 2019, 38 barangays within the 4th and 6th class municipalities in Catanduanes benefitted from the NSB program. (EAB-PIA5/Catanduanes)
