CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao, Aug. 2– Fifteen members of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters and 2 soldiers were killed in an operation launched yesterday (July 29, 2020) in Datu Salibo, Maguindanao.
The troops from 57th Infantry Battalion were conducting security operation when they encountered undetermined number of BIFF and Dawlah Islamiya-Terror Group (DITG) at Brgy Penditen of Datu Salibo town, exchange of fires started at around 5:20 a.m. and lasted until 11:30 a.m. of the same day.
Thirteen soldiers were slightly wounded in the clash and were brought at Camp Siongco Station Hospital for medical treatment. Families of the killed and wounded soldiers were already informed of the incident.
At least 8 BIFF and DITG members were wounded including Hassan Indal, who is the leader of the terror group, based from the reports of civilian residents in the area.
