BORONGAN CITY, August 17 (PIA) -- The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Hernani through the leadership of Mayor Amado L. Candido installed free Wi-Fi in schools and barangay centers.

According to Mayor Candido, the project COVID-19 Response to Education and Wi-Fi is one of his priorities.

“I am thankful to the national government, especially President Rodrigo R. Duterte through Senator Bong Go for giving us funds for this project,” Candido said.

"Through this Wi-Fi internet connection, my constituents can access and freely connect to the internet via their mobile devices and they can access all the needed information they need specially this COVID-19 pandemic."

“It is high time that Wi-Fi plays a very important role in the community considering that most of my constituents have cell phones,” Mayor Candido said.

Mr. Eladio E. Rivera, Jr. Teacher III, English Department Head of Pedro E. Candido Memorial National High School (PECMNHS) said the free Wi-Fi in the municipality is a blessing.

“It is very timely, especially since most of the transactions are online. This step of LGU would really be of great help not only to the teachers but to the students and parents as well."

"By this free Wi-Fi, students can quickly and easily share documents, get access to resources, wherever they are."
