PASIG CITY, August 18 (PIA) -- The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) today announced that the LRT-2 will implement the “No Mask, No Face Shield, No Entry” policy upon resumption of its operation.
According to LRT-2, the said policy aims to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission using these two layers of protection.
A passenger without a facemask and a face shield will not be allowed inside the station or onboard the train.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has issued a Memorandum Circular on the mandatory wearing of face shields for passengers using public transportation which started on August 15, 2020.
The LRT-2 also continues to remind passengers to follow safety protocols in entering the station and boarding the train.
Earlier, the LRT-2 also reminded passengers that talking is not allowed on the train as respiratory droplets is one of the usual causes of COVID-19 infection. "Huwag makipag-usap sa katabing pasahero sa loob ng #LRT2. Ugaliin ang pagsusuot ng face mask at paggamit ng alcohol o sanitizer," it said. (PIA-NCR)
