NCPW observance in Ilocos Region to kick off Sept. 1

SAN FERNANDO CITY, Aug. 29 (PIA ) – The annual observance for the National Crime Prevention Week, virtually kicks-off simultaneously on September 1, among the national and regional offices of the National Police Commission (Napolcom).

In the region, a program will be attended by  representatives of Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and other members of the Inter-Agency Technical Working Group, livestreamed in the official Facebook page of Napolcom.

Activities for this year include a gift-giving in a daycare center in Caba town, coastal clean-up in San Fernando City, and distribution of personal protective equipment among frontliners in an identified barangay in Bauang town.

They will likewise conduct webinar among the youth on relevant topics such as cyberbullying, crime prevention, and community service-policing system.

Theme for the 26th year celebration of the NCPW is “Komunidad Pangalagaan Nang Pandemya at Krimen ay Maiwasan.”

The annual observance hopes to generate awareness and appreciation of the importance of crime prevention and encourage the participation of the people in crime prevention. (JCR/AMB/JDS/PIA La Union)
