OSCAR Alumni Assn. sets online 'Kabayanihan ng Kabataan' Forum

BAGUIO CITY, Aug. 23 (PIA) - - The Outstanding Students of the Cordillera Administrative Region (OSCAR) Alumni Community Inc., in celebration of National Heroes Day and “Linggo ng Kabataan”, is leading the Kabayanihan ng Kabataan Forum 2020  “PANDEMIC: A Challenge in Global Youth Participation”.

A virtual webinar using the Zoom platform set at 1:00 pm this Tuesday (August 25), the OSCAR Alumni Inc. initiative aims to increase awareness among the youth and further engage them for community participation in addressing the challenges brought by the COVID-19  pandemic.

Target participants for the KKF forum are Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials and members, Local Youth Development Council members, students and youth leaders from the different colleges and universities in Baguio City, La Trinidad Benguet and other parts of Cordillera.

First topic for the KKF webinar is “The Youth, The Pandemic and the New Normal”, with Alfred Opiz – Dicto, co – founder and executive director of Positive Youth Development Network (PYDN), a youth – led NGO that is responsible for developing and managing quality and high  impact youth engagement platforms in the country.

Another topic is the “Good Food Drive” with Jojo Gomino – Ocol, co  founder and Chief Operations Officer of AGRABAH (Agriculture Bayanihan), an award winning Agritech Startup helping farmers and fisherfolks by providing a steady market channel and fair profit.

Resource speaker Mark Conrad Rivero – Ravanzo,  founder and chief executive of “I am M.A.D (Making A Difference), a youth organization that is championing volunteerism, will  talk about  “BI DA One to Make a Difference.”
