PASIG CITY, Aug. 9 (PIA) -- The City Government of Pasig is working double time to quarantine more people who are infected with COVID-19 and bring them in to the city’s centralized quarantine facility, according to Mayor Vico Sotto.
“We are working double time to pull out more people from the communities so we can care for them here,” said Mayor Vico in a Facebook post.
The local chief executive said the city is also planning to bring in an additional 200 patients, who are experiencing mild cases of the virus, into quarantine facilities.
“For the next week, our target is to put 200 more mild cases in centralized quarantine.”
Sotto added that the facility is ready and stressed the importance of isolation to avoid further spreading of the virus.
“Sa bawat pasyenteng naipapasok natin dito ay maaaring sampung tao ang naligtas natin mula sa covid. Maaaring isang libo… hindi na natin malalaman.”
To recall, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases now discourages the practice of home quarantine for COVID-positive individuals.
Meanwhile, the city’s centralized quarantine facility located at the Rizal High School treats mild and asymptomatic patients.
According to the city government, the facility can accommodate up to 1,000 patients. (PIA-NCR)
