BORONGAN CITY, August 17(PIA) – The PNP E. Samar intensified the apprehension of violators of the ordinances on wearing of facemasks in public places in line with the Modified General Community Quarantine due to COVID-19 in the province.
In the municipality of Sulat, the police caught three facemask violators, all are residents of Brgy. San Isidro, Sulat, Eastern Samar.
The violators were loitering at the said barangay without wearing facemask or face covering.
Police Officers notified the violators that the entire municipality of Sulat is still under Modified General Community Quarantine re Covid-19 and strictly implementing mandatory wearing of facemask in public places at all times, to protect the people from COVID-19 outbreak.
The said violators were released upon receipt of the citation tickets.
In Maydolong town, the MPS conducted a mobile patrol at Brgy. 06, Maydolong E. Samar which resulted in the apprehension of four violators on wearing of facemask. Said violators were brought to the police station and later released from custody after having paid the corresponding monetary penalty of 50.00 pesos for the first offense to the Maydolong Treasurer's Office.
On August 12, 2020, the Arteche MPS personnel led by PLT Marlo O. Capate with four other PNCO’s, conducted a mobile Patrol at Barangay Garden Arteche Eastern Samar which resulted to the apprehension of two resident of Brgy. Garden, Arteche Eastern Samar.
Citation Tickets were issued to the violators and were brought to the Arteche MPS for documentation and proper disposition and subsequently released to pay their violation fines at the Arteche Municipal Treasurer’s office.
”The current threat of Corona Virus (COVID-19) disease, Arteche PNP will make us more active in implementing rules and regulations to protect the populace and prevent the spread of this virus,” PLT Capate emphasized.
Similarly, the Quinapondan MPS team led by PSSg Eduardo B Sabulao, and three other PNCO’s together with the members of BHERT of Brgy. 03 Pob. Quinapondan Eastern Samar apprehended a violator for the defilement of Municipal Ordinance No. 5, Series of 2020 (Mandatory Wearing of Facemask).
On August 12, 2020, Quinapondan MPS apprehended one student, and a resident Brgy Sta. Cruz, Quinapondan Eastern.
The violator of the ordinance was brought to Quinapondan Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition and subsequently released from police custody after the violator rendered as reprimanded for first time offender.
The Quinapondan Municipal Police Station publicly announced to all Quinapondananons to cooperate and obey the health protocols issued by the National Government and Local Government Unit of the municipality of Quinapondan Eastern Samar.
On August 13, 2020, the Llorente MPS also conducted a mobile patrol that resulted to the apprehension of four violators from the municipality of Llorente, for not wearing of facemask in public places.
Apprehended persons were brought to Llorente MPS for proper documentation and subsequently released after paying the corresponding penalty amounting to two hundred fifty pesos (P250.00) each for 1st offense.
"The efforts exhibited by the authorities clearly show how serious the LGUs and police are in implementing the ordinances that will protect our people from the COVID-19 ," said Provincial Director Carlito Abriz.
