CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Aug. 18 (PIA) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has awarded P3, 721,487 worth of livelihood package under the Department of Labor and Employment Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) in the province.
DOLE-Kalinga Head Avelina Manganip informed the assistance was given to eight organizations and seven individuals benefiting 582 people in the barangays Apatan and Asibanglan in Pinukpuk municipality, New Tanglag in Lubuagan, Pantikian in Balbalan, Dangtalan in Pasil and Bulanao, Laya West and Magnao of Tabuk City.
Under the DILEEP, DOLE awards the fund aid to accredited co-partner (ACP), usually the barangay-LGU of beneficiaries, which is responsible in the procurement of the goods and items to be distributed to beneficiaries as contained in the memorandum of agreement (MOA).
The DILEEP assistance is received by the beneficiaries in the form of P20, 000-worth of goods and items, instead of cash.
The ACPs must strictly comply with government audit rules in the procurement and must submit on time proper liquidation of the funds.
DOLE suspends future releases of DILEEP aid to barangays with pending liquidations thus preventing new applicants from receiving the assistance, she explained
Manganip called on the recipients to properly comply with the conditions in the MOA to sustain the program in Kalinga especially this time of COVID-19 pandemic. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
