CATARMAN, Northern Samar, Aug 31 (PIA) -- The Provincial Youth and Development Office (PYDO) of the province of Northern Samar through its Officer-In-Charge Mr. Allen Berbon spearheads the observance of Linggo ng Kabataan mostly on a virtual scheme.
In between virtual activity was a forum on anti-illegal drugs focusing on the salient provisions of Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2020 with Major Bonifacio Ricafort of Northern Samar Police Provincial Office as the resource person and a talk on Irreversible Effects of Illegal Drugs by Provincial Health Officer I, Dr. Catherine Layon-Miral.
Competitions among the towns’ bests on choral, modern dance, art exhibit, among others, were done in a virtual manner, where participating LGU presented entries through online.
"This celebration is not only a manifestation of the youth's adaptive and innovative leadership in order to survive and fight this pandemic, but a testament that we are the most potent force to lead, not only the new, but the better normal," said Berbon.
"Youth Development sits high in Governor Edwin Ongchuan's development agenda, hence, we thank him for always being the patron of Sustainable Youth Development Activities," Berbon added.
In his message, Governor Edwin Ongchuan said, "I look forward on the day when young Nortehanons are no longer mere beneficiaries of Government Programs, but as our reliable partners in governance."
