CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Aug. 25 (PIA) - - This city’s COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force (CIATF) decided to implement surgical lockdown in parts of Barangay Bulanao Centro starting August 26 until further notice in efforts to arrest further spread of the disease.
The lockdown covers Puroks 1, 5 and 6 (Greenhills) where local transmission has increased the past days. The temporary lockdown aims to fastrack contact tracing and also to prevent congestion of the 30-bed capacity treatment monitoring facility at Barangay Agbannawag which is currently accommodating 24 COVID-19 positive patients.
The City Health Office (CHO) is awaiting swab test results of 110 direct contacts from the clusters of COVID-19 cases in Bulanao. As of August 24, CHO recorded a cumulative total of 83 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 44 recoveries and 39 active cases.
City Mayor Darwin Estrañero, in his message during the CIATF meeting, said the situation is quite alarming that seemingly many are not doing their part in fighting this unseen enemy. He assured that the local government is working hard to fight COVID -19 and appealed to the people for their cooperation.
“Your local government unit is doing its best to contain the virus and protect all of its people in Tabuk,” he said.
“Kakailyan, kadagitoy nga tyempo ket awisek manen ti kooperasyon ti tumunggal maysa kadatayo nga makipag maymaysa iti laban tayo against this Covid 19 virus.(At this juncture, may I ask the cooperation of everyone in the fight agains Always follow lawful orders, the health protocols and let's try to do our part in keeping our city safe,” the Mayor added.
He said we will also be signing a joint memorandum with the municipality of Tanudan to establish a joint checkpoint at sitio Magabbangon, Cudal to be manned by both LGUs.
Meanwhile, Estrañero acknowledged the untiring support of health workers and all frontliners (PNP, POSO, AFP). “Ammok apo nga mabanbannog kayon but because of our common commitment to serve our people, adda kayo latta dita nga agserserbi ti pagilyan tayo,” he said. (JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
