Voter registration resumes Sept. 1, registrants reminded to wear face mask, face shield

PASIG CITY, Aug. 28 (PIA) -- As voter registration resumes in September, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) reminds voter registration applicants to observe health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

According to COMELEC, voter registration will resume on September 1, 2020 nationwide, except in areas that will be declared under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) and modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).

Registration is from Tuesdays to Saturdays, including holidays, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Office of the Election Officer.

Registrants are advised of the "No Face Mask and Shield, No Registration" policy as it will be observed in the office at all times.

COMELEC added that an express lane for persons with disability (PWD), senior citizens, and pregnant women will be provided.

To recall, the commission has suspended the voter registration in March as a response to the threat to public health posed by COVID-19. (PIA-NCR)
