AFP calls on nurses to join the Nurse Corps

PASIG CITY, Aug. 28 (PIA) -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is in need of nurses to bolster its Nurse Corps amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Do you have what it takes to be a modern-day hero? Then join the AFP Nurse Corps," the AFP said in a Facebook post.

The AFP shared these qualifications to join its Nurse Corps, which are:

-          Natural-born Filipino Citizen 

-          Single, 21 to 25 years old

-          Minimum height of 5 feet

-          With good moral character

-          With at least one (1) year experience in a DOH level II accredited                    hospital

-          Must pass the AFP Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT)

-          Must pass the Physical Medical Examination and Physical Fitness Test

Qualified nurses will have the chance to be assigned in the AFP Major Service units (Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy) and to have a progressive career development in the service, it said.

"Opportunity for local and foreign schooling also awaits qualified applicants, as well as health care and housing benefits, and pension and retirement benefits," the AFP added.

A competitive pay and allowances also await qualified applicants, it furthered.
