Alfonso town's agri-tourism to open 1st strawberry farm in the south

ALFONSO, Cavite, Oct 1 (PIA) -- Mayor Randy Salamat of this municipality recently revealed the town's agri-tourism must-see, the Queens Strawberry Farm with launching set on December this year.

"Ikinagagalak ko pong ipahayag sa inyo na magkakaroon na po tayo ng kauna-unahang strawberry farm in the south. Ito po ay matatagpuan sa Barangay Upli at inaasahang magbukas ngayong Disyembre 2020, " Mayor Randy announced.

(I am happy to announce that we will have the 1st Strawberry Farm in the South. It is located in Barangay Upli and is expected to open this December 2020.)

The Queens Strawberry Farm is a two-hour drive from Manila via Tagaytay City or from the Coastal-Cavitex-Indang Road. The farm is planted with 50,000 fruit-bearing strawberry plants using the vertical farming and aquaponics technology.

An agri-tourism site, the farm will offer several leisure and educational activities like dine-in restaurants where delectable foods created and crafted with strawberries and other sumptuous dishes to indulge in, strawberry picking, learning modern and intensive farming technologies in growing strawberries and raising tilapia, or just simply relaxing and enjoying the view of lighted ponds and fountains and the cool breeze of the upland weather.

This will  boost the agri-tourism industry and contribute to the economy of Alfonso with the income generated from the business of the tourism site and from the sale of the different farm products. (Ruel Francisco/Randy Salamat FB page)
