Andanar cites 'Warriors with a Heart'

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Sept. 27 (PIA) – “I salute to you guys. Mabuhay kayo. Bilib ako sa inyo.”

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security (CORDS) X Secretary Martin Andanar told the medical team from this city in a recently held virtual Kapihan sa PIA who volunteered to serve the National Capital Region (NCR) for a month.

The medical volunteers who were called "Warriors with a Heart" left for the NCR last Aug. 21, to augment the health workers in Manila in the fight against coronavirus disease (COVID)-19.

The 11-man team consisting of one doctor, seven nurses, and three medical technologists was led by Dr. Tristan Jediah Labitad.

Acknowledging the sacrifices and risks the warriors with a heart made, Andanar said: “Congratulations to you and your team. I salute you guys. Thank you for volunteering not only your time but volunteering your life. I know it is difficult that you’re risking your life just to help the government and every Filipino that is going through this hardship, this COVID-19 pandemic. I know it is difficult. But, as they say, that a true man can be measured in how much he can give himself to a cause larger than himself." (JAKA/PIA10)
