DAVAO CITY, Sept. 2 (PIA) - The capacity of Davao City to test more people for COVID-19 was amped up with the donation of three COVID-19 testing machines.

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on August 31, gave the city an RNA extraction machine along with two reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction machines with accessories.

The DBM donated machines will be placed at the Davao City COVID-19 testing facility in Los Amigos in Tugbok district.

Meanwhile, the Department of Tourism will also be donating an RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) machine and RNA extractor for Covid-19 testing in Davao City. The location for the said testing facility is still being discussed.

“Yesterday nag-explain si Atty. Lloyd Lao of Department of Budget and Management (DBM), ingon siya katong ilang RNA machines (nga gi-donate) can test 96/hour, and the PCR can run up to 3,000 [tests] a day. Once up and running na, that will not be limited to Davao City. (Yesterday Atty Lloyd Lao of the Department of Budget and Management explained, he said that their RNA machines can test 96/hour whole the PCR can run up to 3,000 tests per day, once it is up and running it will not be limited to Davao City)” Mayor Sara Duterte at her Davao City Disaster Radio program bared that the machines will not just be for Dabawenyos.
